uPVC Fascias, Soffit and Guttering

With over 20 years of experience in fascias, soffits and guttering, the team at J Mann Roofing really know our way around a roof. Fascias and soffits perform two functions for housing and buildings; they improve the overall appearance of the building whilst forming sealed ventilation to stop leaks and flooding within the property.

In older properties, or properties with periodic features, wooden soffits and fascias may have been installed to maintain the historic appearance of the building. However, homeowners may have noticed that theses softwood soffits and fascias need to be replaced regularly, due to rotting, which gives them a shorter lifespan. At J Mann Roofing, we fit our client’s properties with white uPVC soffits and fascias, which give the building a clean, fresh appearance whilst lasting longer and being easier to maintain.

Soffits

Soffits are installed between the roof tiles and property wall, they contain a lightweight inner layer and have a waterproof outer layer to provide added protection for the property. Their main purpose is to provide protection for the exposed rafter ends, however they can also provide ventilation for the building, as well as adding to the fresh and clean appearance of the property. We advise replacing the old wooden soffits with hard-wearing, easily-maintained uPVC soffits for less replacements and to avoid the risk of rotting.

Fascias

Fascias are the most prominently visible part of the external roof protection. The white strips visible along the underside of the roof tiles provides support for both the lower row of tiles and the guttering for the building. For this reason, Fascias are hardwearing and strong enough to support the tiles, guttering and extra weight added by the water during downpours. In older buildings, wooden fascias are popular, but it is important to update your property with uPVC fascias to avoid the risk of rotting and weakening of the fascia, which may cause expensive damage to the roof, guttering and overall structure of the building.

Bargeboards

Bargeboards are the decorative touch for your roof, finishing and sealing the protective components in an appealing, attractive manner.

Guttering

Guttering runs around the edge of the roof and collects the rainwater as it is deposited. The water then runs into downpipes for responsible disposal. This means that rainwater does not collect in the walls of your property, causing irreparable, expensive water damage and potentially rendering the property unsafe. At J Mann Roofing, we install clean, bright white uPVC guttering for strength, longevity and an attractive finish to suit the property exterior.
